Course
1-mile course around the zoo featuring beautiful, large lantern displays. It will not be dark at this time.
Timing
The Glo Wild Mile is not a timed race, but a race nonetheless! The Blue wave should be able to complete a mile in 10 minutes or less, Green, Orange, Red and Purple waves should be able to complete a mile in 13 minutes or less. The Yellow, Rainbow and White waves should be able to complete a mile in 20 minutes or less.
Medals
Placement-based medal per wave: Cheetah Medals for the first 10 racers, Gazelle Medals for the next 10 racers, Ostrich Medals for the next 10 racers, Zebra Medals for the next 10 and Lion Medals for the next 10 racers.
Wave Information
All waves follow the same route; only the start times differ. Blue - 6:30 PM, Green - 6:40 PM, Orange - 6:55 PM, Purple - 7:10 PM, Red - 7:25 PM, Yellow - 7:40 PM, Rainbow - 8:00 PM, White - 8:20 PM. After all race waves conclude at 8:40 PM, participants can revisit the course at their leisure and enjoy the stunning displays until 10:30 PM, free of charge.
Important Notes:
Each racer will find a coupon on their race bib, redeemable for food or nonalcoholic drinks at any on-site vendor. Race bibs can be used for $2 off full price admission to the Fort Wayne Zoo on Saturday, May 2nd.
There will be no on-site registration; please register in advance.
For the safety of our animals, dogs and other pets are not permitted. Service animals must check in at Zoo guest services at least 1 hour prior to the race.
While participants can re-enter the course for free after the race, friends and family can join them by purchasing separate entries.
Proceeds benefit the Fort Wayne Zoo.
