COVID-19 INFORMATION FOR THE 2020 FALL FESTIVAL
Fort4Fitness is committed to the health and safety of all of our participants. We are working diligently to make sure that we're taking the right steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while keeping our sense of community strong.
At this time, we are preparing for an in-person Fall Festival event in September. You can sign up now for the event as you normally would by clicking here.
If you are not comfortable participating in the in-person event, there is also a virtual option in which you can participate on your own at a location of your choosing. All participants registered by August 10th will receive their t-shirt and medal. Click here to register for the Virtual Fall Festival.
As we get closer to the event date, we will continue to follow the guidelines of our state and local health officials, and we will make any necessary modifications to keep our community safe. With participant safety and local economic effects at the root of these changes, the 2020 in-person event will be scaled down in comparison to previous years. Our goal is to limit the amount of close contact that participants have with one another while still maintaining the integrity of the races.
Changes for the 2020 event include:
- A multi-wave start to each race
- No Gear Check
- Due to staff and economic restraints brought on by COVID-19, Vera Bradley's goody bags are limited and available while supplies last
- No post-race entertainment
- Pre-packaged post-race food
- Fewer Water Stations (due to limited volunteers and to ensure water is distributed in a safe and hygienic manner)
- An expedited Packet Pick-Up process with less person-to-person contact; date/time TBD
- Fewer Expo vendors along with one way walking traffic
- Due to heightened concerns for our senior population, the Kids Marathon and Seniors Marathon Final Miles will be at two separate times. If a senior participant would like to complete the Final Mile with a grandchild or other Kids Marathon participant, that will be permitted.
If it is deemed necessary to cancel the in-person Fall Festival, participants will be offered a virtual participation option. Please see below for what to expect in the event of a cancellation.
Q: If I'm already signed up for a race, would I be refunded?
A: Due to expenses already incurred for the event, registrations are non-refundable. However, your current registration would automatically apply to the virtual event, in which you would complete on your own at a location of your choosing. You would also receive a discount credit to apply to your registration for next year's Fall Festival in 2021.
2021 credit amounts are:
- $10 for the 4 Mile
- $25 for the 10K
- $35 for the Half Marathon
- $75 for the Triple Crown
Q: Would I still get a t-shirt and a medal for completing the virtual event?
A: All participants registered by August 10th would receive a t-shirt and medal, either in the mail or via curbside pick-up. Please note that only those who utilize curbside pick-up will receive a Vera Bradley goody bag, while supplies last. Vera Bradley bags will not be mailed.
Q: I'm currently signed up for the in-person event. Can I switch to the virtual option?
A: Yes. After July 20th, we will allow transfers into the virtual race. We will then send you a new confirmation as well as your discount code for 2021.
Q: If I haven't signed up for the in-person event yet, can I still sign up for the virtual event?
A: Yes. Click here to register for the Virtual Fall Festival.
Q: What are the prices for the virtual event?
- 4 Mile: $20
- 10K: $20
- Half Marathon: $25
- Triple Crown: $30
Q: Will virtual participants be timed?
A: No. Virtual participants will not be timed. Race completion will be based on the honor system.
As stated, we currently are planning on hosting the in-person Fall Festival event in September. Participants will be notified as soon as possible with any changes.
