Summer is in full swing, and it’s the perfect time to begin training for the 2016 Fall Festival. Next week marks the start of our summer Get Fit in the Fort Running Group led by RRCA Certified Running Coach and Personal Trainer Mike Else.
Our running groups are for anyone, whether you are looking to get off the couch and get active or you want to improve your PR. This is a 15 week training program that pushes you to reach those goals. Each group will meet twice weekly, giving you 30 sessions to improve and get one step closer to your goal.
You have the option of joining either the Monday night group at 6:30 pm at the ASH Centre (1701 Freeman Street) or Tuesday nights at 5:30 pm at the Mad Anthony’s Children’s Hope House on the Lutheran Health Network Campus (3900 Old Mill Rd). Both groups then meet on Saturday at 8:00 am at Foster Park for the second run each week.
If the invaluable training isn’t enough to incentivize you, everyone signed up for the Running Group will be provided a Fort4Fitness short sleeve training t-shirt and drawstring gear bag. You will also receive a customized weekly training program based on your desired distance in the Fall Festival.
If instead you are looking for a general fitness class to keep in shape, we also offer the Get Fit in the Fort Training series with classes starting June 7th.
